Emergency Operations Group (EOG) Coordinates Campaign & Political Events During 2016 Campaign Season

During the 2016 campaign season, the university’s Emergency Operations Group (EOG) coordinated campaign and political events. These efforts involved multiple meetings of the EOG to address logistics, costs, impact on university operations, messages to the university community, and security requirements. This process provided transparency to those university units involved in major events as well as a holistic picture of the true cost and impact of campaign events.
Events were often planned and executed with only three to four days notice, which required emergency meetings of the EOG after hours and on weekends, around the clock planning efforts, and on site support from EOG units prior to and during the event.
