Lee Wilson joined the Office of Fire Safety Programs in 2005 after having served with the Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office for 16 years. Lee currently serves as a Senior Fire Inspector overseeing building fire safety inspections for all four campuses. He also manages the opening burning permit, tent permit, and hot work permit programs along with being a valuable resource in both fire and building code research. He also provides educational presentations in fire prevention and related topics campus wide.
Lee holds several state and national certifications including Certified Fire Official, Fire Instructor III, Hazardous Materials Operations, Emergency Medical Technician, and Certified Fire Prevention Inspector. He has taught fire science courses at both the high school and college level and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Risk Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
