Fire Safety Plans and Guides

George Mason University’s Fire Safety Program is designed to deliver programs and services that will reduce the risk of fire at George Mason University. These programs and services include regular inspection and testing of all building fire protection systems, fire drills, development of building evacuation plans, installation, inspection, and testing and training on the use of portable fire extinguishers, and fire cause investigation.

Plans

The University Fire Safety Plan and Unit Fire Safety Plan outlines the various responsibilities, activities, and procedures that the university observes to reduce the potential for fires and mitigate the damage should one occur on university property.

Guides

The following guides provide instruction on work practices that must be observed to provide a safe work environment, mitigate fires, and respond to fires should one occur.
